    this is much like a conversation i had with my mother last week, explaining that “gay” no longer necessarily refers to homosexuality. which is weird, because i was under the impression that she had lived through the 80s. and the 90s for that matter.

    In Savage Love today, Dan Savage actually discussed the use of “gay” as a synonym for “lame.” But the issue wasn’t whether people understood the use, which is a given, but whether it was acceptable yet. The bottom line: it depends on the audience.
    Also, Joe, didn’t you mean to post your comment to my next post instead? I mean, that dude is pretty gay. Donating two grand to Dubya? Way gay.
